Programs and Services

Clinical Health Team

Consists of our physicians and nurse practitioners who look after the medical needs of clients within their practice. *Please note- Walk-in services are not available.

Mental Health Program

Provides mental health support, crisis intervention services, practical & emotional client support, home/hospital visits, referrals, and advocacy and participates in community development.

Health Education/Promotion

Provides access to health education, information and resource materials, assist community partners with program/development, coordinate workshops, educational sessions and health fairs as well as raise community awareness about health issues currently affecting the Aboriginal population.

Traditional Program

Arranges Traditional Healer and alternative health therapy services, coordinates a variety of cultural events/workshops such as: medicine picking, men's/women's sweats, craft & language classes and offers various support groups.

Medical Driver

Shkagamik-Kwe Health Centre provides transportation services to Elders, disabled people, and families with young unwell children who are in financial need to their SKHC appointments and external appointments arranged by SKHC staff members. Those who are able to travel by public transportation are expected to do so. This is a priviledge not a right.

Healthy Choices Program

Provides services to address fetal alcohol spectrum disorder & to Aboriginal women who use alcohol/drugs during pregnancy and Aboriginal families with children ages 0-6. Program services include: primary/secondary/tertiary care such as: nutritional support, a diagnostic team for diagnosis, screening and assessment, advocacy, referral and educational/support services.
